Download Twitter videos on Mac or Windows

Mac and Windows use the same website. Paste a public link in Chrome, Edge, or another browser. On desktop Chromium you can also install the extension, which adds a button on X and Twitter only.

    Copy the status URL

    Copy the public post link in your browser or the X app on your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Paste it or use the extension

    Paste the link on this site, or use the extension button on x.com or twitter.com. The extension does not run on TikTok, Vimeo, or Facebook. Paste those links instead.

  3. Step 3

    Save the MP4

    The file lands in your downloads folder. macOS and Windows receive the same public MP4.

Questions

Is the extension on both Mac and Windows?

Yes, in desktop Chrome and other Chromium browsers from the Chrome Web Store. The button is only on x.com and twitter.com.

Do Mac and Windows get different files?

No. Both save the same public MP4.
